Made New

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new"
– 2 Corinthians 5:17

A woman with curly hair in a teal t-shirt speaks into a microphone on a dimly lit stage. A man stands behind her, and an audience is silhouetted below.

What is Made New?

Made New is a short class for anyone who is considering making a decision to follow Christ, or who is wondering what baptism actually means. Whether this is your first church experience or your first one in a long time, you are welcomed here.

Some things we talk about are:

What actually happens when we put our faith in Jesus
What baptism represents
What it means to begin (or renew) a relationship with God

Made New is

  • Honest conversation centered on the good news of Jesus
  • For those who have recently made a decision to follow Jesus
  • For those who may be interested in getting baptized, whether new to faith or a longtime believer

Made New is not

  • Not a formal commitment to get baptized
  • Not a place where you’re expected to pretend
  • Not about membership at Wellspring, but about a relationship with God

Why Baptism?

Baptism is a public, tangible way of saying yes to the life Jesus offers. New life, forgiveness, healing, and hope. In Scripture, baptism marks a turning point: a step of trust, obedience, and belonging.

FAQs

Is Made New right for me?

Made New might be a good fit if you:
  • Are new to the faith
  • Are returning to God after time away
  • Are drawn to Jesus, but still trying to articulate what you believe
  • Want to understand baptism before taking the next step

Do I have to get baptized if I take Made New?

No. Made New is a space to explore and learn. Some people decide to get baptized afterward, and some don’t and that’s okay.

What if I don’t know much about the Bible?

That’s completely okay. You don’t need any prior knowledge. We explain things clearly and meet you where you’re at.

What if I still have doubts?

You’re welcome here. Faith often begins with questions. Made New is a place where curiosity and honesty are valued.

Is this only for new believers?

Not at all. People at many stages of faith take Made New, new believers, longtime churchgoers, and people returning after years away.

How long is the course?

The course is about 45 minutes after the second service
