We are Wellspring Roots!

Students from 6th through 12th grade can join us every other Wednesday at 6:30pm at Wellspring Church in Long Island City, Queens.

VINEYARD WINTER RETREAT

February 14 – 16

Our Winter Retreat is a highlight of the year—a weekend set apart for students to unplug from daily rhythms, deepen relationships, and grow in their faith. This year, we'll be heading to Camp Ladore in Waymart, PA and are expecting to meet around 400–500 middle school and high school students from across the northeast.

We expect this to be an incredibly impactful experience for our youth—an opportunity to step outside the city, have fun, build deeper relationships with peers and leaders, and most importantly, encounter God in a fresh and meaningful way!

WELCOME TO ROOTS

Charlie Seminario-Burns
Youth Director

Our heart is to see the youth of our city truly thrive. We believe that happens when students discover their identity and purpose in Jesus. Roots exists to be a fun, engaging, and safe place where every teen is welcomed, known, and encouraged as they do life together.

Whether you’re a student looking for a place to belong or a parent with questions, I’d love to connect.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m always happy to support however I can.

So, what happens at a Roots night?

We meet every other Wednesday at 6:30pm to hang out, connect, and walk together in our journey of faith.

A large, diverse group of young people smiles for the camera while seated at a long, festive dinner table decorated for fall in a large event hall.

A Place to Belong

Wednesday nights at Roots are all about connection. We gather around the table for a family-style meal, catch up on our weeks, and spend time laughing and playing games together. Roots is a place where students can be fully themselves, build meaningful friendships with peers and trusted Youth Leaders, and know they are welcomed—no matter who they are or where they’re at in their faith journey.

A Place to Grow

Each night includes an encouraging, Jesus-centered message designed to help students better understand who Jesus is and what it looks like to follow Him in everyday life. We spend time in worship together, creating space to encounter God and respond to His presence.

A group of teens and adults stand on a stage in front of a seated audience, participating in what appears to be a taste-testing game or performance.

A Place to Be Known

After the message, students break into small groups where they can ask honest questions, share their thoughts, and process life in a safe, supportive environment. Small groups are where deeper relationships are formed and students are reminded they don’t have to figure out faith—or life—on their own.
"Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.”

- Colossians 2:7 (NLT)
